White Pre-Christmas assured.
Posted by: Finch in Musings, tags: house, stupid human tricks, timeI should really pay more attention to the weather. Dad warned me a week ago this was coming, and Shelly still had to remind me last night. Although I’m a bit pissy about not having been able to take actual vacation time this week, I admit today I’m feeling at least a little thankful that I don’t have to take the bus in today.
Also, I’m thankful that my driveway is little more than a slightly elongated square between my house and the teeny little windy road that connects me to the rest of the world; if I had Mom’s driveway to shovel with a six to ten inch snow forecast, I’d…
…well, I’d do what I’m going to do anyway, which is have a nice hot coffee with a shot of Baileys, write a bit in a comfy chair and watch the snow fall.
Gee, I really hope the cable is sound against the weather. Would be a real crime if it, you know, got disconnected or something, and I had to spend the day unavailable. Man, that’d really, um, suck…

aww, but shovelling snow is one of the best parts of a good winter! shame we aint had one over here in years
It would suck for the cable to suddenly die, for deez
But really. Snow, chair, Coffee minus the Baileys sounds good. Just throw in my kid outside in the falling snow and its perfect
other note though, damn that’s some commute you do to work if your forecast link is accurate. I wouldn’t even commute the 18miles to Glasgow!

Hmmm… you know, I’ve always been more partial to sitting on my ass and watching the poor fellow across the street wheeze over his shovel while I drink my coffee, but then that probably doesn’t surprise you very much.
As for the cable, I’ve gotten lucky so far today; aside from a 90 min conference call where things actually got done in mass quantity (which made it, for once, a GOOD conference call), I’ve got nothing going on — so I’ll leave the router plugged in for now.
Yeah, that’s my commute. Unless I win the Lottery my alternatives are either (a) live in shithole and get to work in 10 minutes, or (b) live someplace really nice and get an extra hour’s sleep on transit. I did (a) for a few years, now I’m giving (b) a try.

You’d better leave the router plugged in, you have your NR flying and I don’t yet
